okay, I know I really need to go to sleep, but I just have to write about this while its still so fresh and vivid in my head. Tonight, I went out with my cousin Janell (spelling) to a bar, called Lava. Our intent at first was to go from 8-9 for the free line dancing lessons. Unfortunatly, Janell left her ID at home, and we had to run back, plus we were already late due to eating dinner late, and such.
We got into the bar at 8:30. the lessons were still taking place, they learned two before we got there, and two were still to be learned. So as soon as we could, we jumped onto the dance floor, and learned the first one.
OHHH MY GOSH - THE FUNNEST DANCE I KNOW YET!!!
im going to try to write it out so that I might remember it later.
(walking forward) right, left, right, left, right, point left foot out.
(walking backward) right , left, right, left, point right foot out.
right foot over left, bring left foot over, and point out left side.
left food over right, bring right foot over, and point out right foot.
grapevine left, cross over infront, beind, infront, rock step with right foot out.
back to two feet together, little stomp stomp thing....
grapevine right, cross over infront, beind, infront, rock step with left foot out.
back to two feet together, little stomp stomp thing....
Jazz square, quater turn to right.
left foot out, little hop thing...
bring feet together, Repeat!!!
okay, so the directions blow, but they will jog my memory, i hope.
that one we got to do to a slow song, then a fast song, it was crazy! Its my favorite, the second was easier, and not as complicated.
and I think i remember it all, but im not sure.
right foot; heel out, toe in, heel out, toe in.
left foot; heel out, toe in, heel out, toe in.
one cross over(grapevine) to the right.
one cross over(grapevine) to the left.
right leg out, half spin, left leg out, back in.
right leg out, half spin, left leg out, back in.
front/right slide step, twice, scuff left foot.
front/left slide step, twice, scuff right foot.
a double jazz square. first one quater turn to the right, second one, quater turn to the right.
I think that was all to that one, its all I remember!
but okay, so after the lessons were over, there were a lot more people. and the next dance they did, not teaching it, was insane! It was slapping hte feet, kicking in the air, spins like crazy, It looked like sooo much fun, but very intimidating.
so we went upstairs were we sat around for awhile, you know, for a good hour I think, or there abouts, just starring down to the dance floor.
I, of course having fun, picking out the girl that I thought looked the greatest down there, she knew the dances, was having fun, my height, (found out later) and okay, so I was super attracted to her. Like I havnt felt this way about some random person in SUCH a long time. Its rare of me to feel like this.
Well, I pointed her out to Janell, and she laughed and told me to go dance with her, (yeah right, shy guy me.) So that hour passed, and there were a lot more people in there now. A LOT. We found some of Lindsey's (spelling?) friends, and stood around with them for awhile. I wasnt comfortable around them at all, since a lot of them were people that it didnt seem I would ever mingle with. Soon, a dance came on that was one we knew. the electric slide!! But, it was a bit different, instead of that imidiated kick over, there is the rock forward and back, then bring back foot up to front foot, stomp, wait a beat, stomp twice, rock back, then kick over!!! ITS SOOO COOL!!!I like that way better a lot more. :-)
(by the way, it was so hot in there, we were just sitting/standing around, dripping in sweat, because there are people dancing just right there, and its a pretty good sized dance floor too.)
We got done with the electric slide, and if I have my memory right, I found myself standing next to that girl that I thought was just GORGOUS. Janell nudged me when se noticed, and said into my ear "isnt that the girl you think is hot?" I was like, "shh! I know!" So i was just being stupid, didnt say anything to her, just kept getting caught looking at her, standing right beside me... She gave me a smile when she caught me, I freaked, smiled back, and turned away. but it was okay, she started to get up to start the next dance anyways, because she headed out to the dance floor.
I COULDNT KEEP MY EYES OFF HER, I FELT LIKE A FREAK, but you have no idea, this girl was so damn gorgous.
Gorgous to some people means nothing "ohh you mean Hot" no... here is my scale..
Hot - just want to have sex with them. or something like that, you know? kinda like a Cyotee Ugly
cute - cute is when they actually look decent, but you dont know much about them really , or have no interest usually..
pretty - a good standard, for me, its like, you would love to date this girl, you know her some usually.
gorgous - the top, nothing better, usually given when a girl is outstanding, or a pretty girl you know, is dressed up.
Why do I give this girl a gorgous? BECAUSE SHE IS. I dont know, maybe im just stupid, but good point here, never that night, did I see her smoking, nor did she smell like it. Her eyes were, just oh my god. I will explain later when I got the chance to see them good and personal.
Well, Janell and Lindsey went to the bathroom, I told Janell that if I wasnt here, i was on the dance floor dancing. Sure enough, they started dancing my favorte dance that I learned before, and I jumped right up on the stage and started dancing! It was a blast! So, I got off once it was over, and stood back by the bar again. Out came Janell and Lindsey just as I was getting back, and they missed it.
We walked around again, met up with more of lindseys friends, and finally, we got out on the dance floor, and started learning some of the dances off to the side. It was a blast. We wernt hte only ones trying to learn, so it was okay, but it sure was a lot of fun to do.
Well, after the electric slide, the dance floor was packed, and the guy puts on this farm dancing song thing, or says that they are gonna do it. "Guys on hte inside, girls on the outside!" Im like, ohh great.... i tried ot walk away but Janell said to stay, its fun and easy.
So, as it begun, I had to dance with someone I didnt know, I explained to her, I dont know what im doing. hehe, she taught me right quick in two trys, and I was on my way.
on my way as in, the guys shift down one girl....
I made my way down, and low and behold, with out even knowing I was coming up to her, there she was. I seriously about froze. And the best part was, she was smiling right at me, and looking at me. Not starring off at some over guy across the club or something, looking at the ceiling, she was looking at me. Thank god before I got to her, I had done it about 5 times, and I knew the dance really well. I offered my hands, and gave her a smile. She took my hands and we danced. I swear, It was like I was dancing with a girl friend. That connection, my eyes didnt leave her face, I didnt look at her body, or nothing, I got the best freaking view of her blue eyes. GOD IT WAS AWESOME. I COULD HAVE DIED THEN A HAPPy MAN. I sound like a freaking girl, but im so serious. Her chest length straight brown hair, not pulled back waved about in the air. Freakles under her eyes were lite up with the beads of sweat and pulsing lights above. She looked at me the whole time, smiling and giggling. As i twirled her about, and brought her close, The light caught her eye, and I stumbled letting her out of the spin. It was a shame the dance is so short with each girl, that soon I had to say goodbye. I gave a head nod to her and smiled, she mouthed "thank you" and smiled.
I WAS IN HEAVEN, I SWEAR I SAW A ANGEL.
Some more dancing occurred later, but wasnt much, and soon we had decided to depart that bar and possible go to another. It was then when we stepped outside that it hit me of how tired I was. I was exhausted, but I couldnt stop thinking about her. It's a shame I dont live here, because I would go there again for the dancing, and the chance to meet her.....
I decided my friends and I either in rochester, college, or both, need to go out to a bar like that, or take lessons of line dancing, because that was some fun shit.
God, she was gorgous - this song is too you!
